Access to records and contacts
Records with detailed personal information (such as nurses' training registers, midwives' birth registers and case notes) are closed to public inspection for 100 years.
Staff wages and salaries books, superannuation registers and service registers are closed for 50 years.
Committee minutes are closed for 30 years unless they contain detailed personal information (such as decisions to section mental health patients). Over the next few years this closure period will be gradually reduced to 20 years.
