Opening a door to the past: Part 2

These podcasts were created through a project run by Norfolk Record Office (NRO) and Writers' Centre Norwich, which took place in March 2010.

Pupils from Long Stratton High School and Acle High School attended a session at the NRO looking at documents and artefacts showing the history of refugees in Norfolk.

Two different sessions were offered. One session looked at Jewish refugees during the 19th century and the other session concentrated on young refugees during the Second World War.

The young people worked with local artist Sarah Bower to create a mixture of recorded interviews and 'talking heads' pieces, presenting letters home or diary entries about their new life and the journey to England.

Next they worked with NRO staff to record and edit their work. The podcasts are the result of this.
