Buy copies of the Bomb Map

The Norwich Air Raid Precautions department created a map during the Second World War to locate where bombs had fallen on the city.

Detailed images of the map are available to buy on CD. You can order your copy by email at

You can also buy copies of the CD at our reception desk at The Archive Centre.

It costs £10, plus postage and packing. We accept credit card payments or payment by cheque.

The bomb map is made up of three Ordnance Survey maps mounted on to boards and measures about 1.8m square.

There are 679 paper labels attached to the map by metal pins. The labels mark the site, date and size of each bomb that fell on Norwich from 1940 to 1945.

The map was moved to the Norfolk Record Office in 2007 for permanent archival storage, having previously been kept in the engineering department at Norwich's City Hall.

A conservation and digitisation project was then carried out so that the map can be consulted by future generations.
