Introduction of a booking system

Visiting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

We advise all visitors to book by emailing norfrec@norfolk.gov.uk.

Visiting on Thursdays and Fridays

Visitors must email norfrec@norfolk.gov.uk to book a place and to order up to four documents for each day.

  • To view documents on a Thursday, visitors must email their order by 12 noon on the preceding Tuesday
  • To view documents on a Friday, visitors must email their order by 12 noon on the preceding Wednesday

Due to limited staff availability on these days, you will be able to view pre-ordered documents only. There will be no document collections during the day.

To see microfilms, please go to the Norfolk Heritage Centre in the Millennium Library, Norwich. The Norfolk Heritage Centre holds copies of most NRO microfilms.

Decision on the proposals

The proposed changes are in response to budget reductions. We expect to know in June whether the changes will be introduced.
